5-frame Nucleus Colonies
available for pick up in Bartow, GA

We offer well established nucleus colonies (nucs) in deep Langstroth frames (9-1/8”). All nucs will have 5 frames of bees with brood, pollen, honey, and a marked laying queen. Our breeder queens come from gentle bees that are great honey producers. They have good mite resistance, early spring buildup, and overwinter well.
Honeybee genetics include Italian-Carniolan hybrid mix as well as survivor stock genetics gotten from bee removals throughout Georgia. We are constantly bringing in new genetics to bring a high quality product.
Our bees will do well in northern climates, however we recommend all new beekeepers to find a local club in their area to attend. Clubs can provide area specific information related to beekeeping.
Our bees are inspected yearly by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. All bees come with a 2024 Certificate of Health from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.
Nucs will be available for pick up starting April 1st and will be available through June.
Advantages of nucs over packages:
- Bees already have a head start with 5 frames of drawn comb, and will be gaining strength for the nectar flow
- The queen is already laying on frames with bees that are already hatching, or getting ready to hatch
- They will already have honey and pollen stores

When reserving your Nuc(s) we ask for a $30 non-refundable deposit. Pick up only in Bartow, GA. No shipping or delivery available on Nucs.
