Our proven queen bees come from Italian-Carniolan hybrid genetics as well as survivor stock colonies which have been relocated to our farm from bee removals performed throughout Georgia. Our queens are grafted from breeder colonies which are selected from our most productive honeybee colonies. They are also selected for gentleness and resistance to pests. Our bees build up quickly and are extremely easy to work with. We are constantly diversifying our genetics by bringing in new breeder queens.

All queen bees sold are proven layers. We assure this by waiting for capped brood to appear before removing the queen from mating nuc boxes. By doing this it allows us to inspect laying pattern and brood, to make sure your queen is well mated.

Our bees are inspected yearly by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. All bees come with a current Certificate of Health from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

You cannot start a new colony with just a queen, you will need worker bees. Usually queens are purchased for diversifying genetics in your bee yard, doing splits, or requeening a queenless colony.
